Except that properties sold by realtors consistently sell for more money than those sold by owners.

I think many people would agree that, in theory, it is a good idea for owners to sell their own properties, because they can avoid paying a 5% commission to a real estate agent.I am selling my home in the Rochester area in the spring. With an agent commission I doubt I will make any money on my home.

Susan
I think anything that lets you contact a seller with a positive message and attitude offering something that is of value can be effective. I see signs and flyers all over my market area put up by FSBO sellers. Very few of them have a link to a site. Today's buyers want to go online and see the photos or video. Then they make the decision as to whether is it worth pursuing. A single property website is one of the best ways to do this. There truly are no strings attached. The seller controls the whole thing and it is free. Should you continue to contact that fsbo seller until they get upset with you? Of course not. But that's just using your better judgment.
