More Meetings on Hoboken (Over)Development – This Time, The NJTransit Site

HOBOKEN CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD SPECIAL MEETING TO SOLICIT ADDITIONAL PUBLIC INPUT ON HOBOKEN YARD REDEVELOPMENT PLAN

The Hoboken City Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 7:00pm to provide members of the public with an additional opportunity to provide comments on the Hoboken Rail Yard Redevelopment Plan and the Planning Board’s recommendations regarding the plan to the City Council. The meeting will be held in Council Chambers in Hoboken City Hall, located at 94 Washington Street. No action will be taken at the meeting. The Planning Board reviewed the plan on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 and concluded that it was consistent with the City of Hoboken Master Plan. The plan will be considered for second and final reading by the City Council on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. The Redevelopment Plan and additional documents can be downloaded at the following links.

    Hi Lori,

    Do you know if a pedestrian walkway over the rail yard has been discussed? I know you can go through the train station or Marin Blvd, but I always though having a walkway over the rail at Washington Street would be a great access point for pedestrians wanting to go to Target, Newport Mall, or other shopping in JC.

    I have not seen any such walkway in the plans I’ve seen but perhaps if you go to the meeting you could ask.
